Director of Business Development: Seattle Office

Glumac is an innovative, sustainable engineering firm with eight offices on the West coast. We specialize in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Energy Modeling, Lighting, and Commissioning and Building Services. Glumac has been in business for over 35 years and has a solid track record of growth and success because we “think inside the building” and encourage innovative and creative thinking.

The vast majority of our projects are Sustainable in design and are LEED certified. We have a wide mix of the types of projects that encompass commercial office buildings, mixed use, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, municipalities, data centers, and institutional design.

We are looking for an individual that not only enjoys communicating, but also has collaborative communication skills and is at ease marketing Glumac’s services. Job purpose is to build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.

Required qualifications include:

  • Client Interface – Must be able to meet with high-level prospective clients including design architects, owners, developers and facility managers.
  • Client Retention - Maintaining relations with clients by organizing and developing specific customer- relations programs; determining company presence at conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars.
  • Innovation – Must be able to develop marketing strategy by studying economic indicators; tracking changes in the construction industry; identifying clients and their current and future needs; monitoring the competition.
  • Closing – Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations. Must be able to win $1million - $2million of professional services annually.
  • Leadership – Will need to lead a team marketing coordinators for the Pacific Northwest Region

The right individual will be high energy, confident, high achiever, resourceful, creative, and passionate in his/her professional goals. Some additional preferred qualifications include:

  • Market Research and Forecasts – Has the ability to provide short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data.
  • Glumac Reputation – Enhances Glumac reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Professional and Technical Knowledge – Wishes to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Management of Marketing Staff – Has the appropriate skills to complete marketing department operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results; maintaining marketing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
