Sustainable Design Glumac is a leader in sustainable design. The firm is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and The Natural Step, the two predominant organizations promoting sustainable design in North America, and our staff members take an active role in participating in these organizations. Our LEED APs have collaborated with architectural clients and owners in the development of over a dozen LEED registered projects for government, institutional, and private developers. We take particular pride in developing cost effective sustainable design solutions and we believe the synergy of a collaborative and integrated sustainable design can simultaneously improve building performance while reducing life cycle costs. Displacement Ventilation/Raised Access Floor Air Conditioning: We have designed and/or commissioned five million sf of raised access floor systems, providing improved indoor air quality, individual temperature control, reduced energy consumption and greater flexibility to accommodate change.
Daylight Harvesting: Natural lighting improves the indoor environment and tenant comfort, while reducing the reliance on conventional lighting systems. Integrated design, utilizing appropriate glazings, shading devices, and daylight responsive controls maximizes these benefits.
