[ARTICLE] Glumac Volunteers with Rebuilding Together

Every year, on the last Saturday in April, volunteers in cities all over the country participate in Rebuilding Together, a program that sponsor teams to go out into the community and refurbish homes for elderly, handicapped and generally underprivileged citizens.

This is the second year that a Glumac team has had the honor to join in on this worthy cause and help a member of our community in need. Our home repair project involved tearing up an old linoleum kitchen floor with dangerous holes and replacing it with beautiful new linoleum; repairing aged concrete steps which led to the home's porch; installing a chain link fence so the homeowner's dog would be able to run outdoors safely; replacing a broken bathroom vanity; replacing the light fixture/fan in the living room; and a plethora of other repairs.

All Glumac's volunteers felt extremely accomplished with their volunteer day and the homeowner was thrilled with the work we completed. Everyone went home feeling tired and very happy. Glumac looks forward to our future volunteering events, and is eager to repair another home with Rebuilding Together in 2013.
