By Jennifer Berg, Associate Electrical Project Engineer

The Irvine office was pleased to be selected as the venue for the Orange County AIA meeting hosted by Southern California Edison in March. The event was
a success, with around 100 attendees including architects, engineers, and
lighting representatives from the around the area.
As part of the event, Glumac’s
Brian Berg and David Pfund of Tambient Lighting unveiled an abbreviated version
of their upcoming presentation for the AIA convention in New Orleans this May. Their presentation provided highlights of the innovative design elements of the
new Irvine office space, information about the evolving Office of the Future
program (which Irvine was proudly selected as the first member), and the
advantages of the Tambient Lighting system used very effectively in the Irvine
office.

Glumac’s Jennifer Berg also gave a brief presentation that gave an overview on the basics of daylight harvesting controls by outlining the general options available, summarizing their pros and cons, and pointing out some of the pitfalls that often render daylighting controls unappealing to the end user. All in all, it was a fun evening of socializing combined with a bit of education.
