New engineering firm opens on Monroe

With a firm opening across from campus, Glumac offers opportunities to students

As the newest addition to Monroe Street, engineering company Glumac could provide many benefits for OSU's future engineers.

"We are a mechanical engineering plumbing process engineering firm. Our claim to fame is the area of sustainability and how to it applies to building systems," said Sam Graves, P.E., Glumac's associate principal and a senior mechanical engineer.

Glumac has been to OSU career fairs, but now that its building is officially across from campus, many opportunities are opening up for students. Besides being able to be apply locally for an internship or a job, students can stop in to simply see what it's like to be in the environment of an engineering firm.

Glumac is the largest mechanical engineering plumbing firm west of the Mississippi and has more Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design projects than any other company in the U.S.

LEED is a measure of sustainability; various levels of LEED certification verify that efforts were made in the design and construction of the building to improve energy savings, water efficiency, indoor air quality and other areas that impact environmental and human health.

Glumac was a part of the building team that designed the Kelley Engineering Center. KEC was the first engineering building in the U.S. to be LEED Gold certified...
